Towards a quantum internet: how to send data with complete security around the world
Quantum computers might soon be so powerful that they’ll be able to hack into all our supposedly private Internet data. But help could be at hand with quantum key distribution (QKD), which encrypts online information using the quantum properties of photons. As this month’s cover feature reports, Toshiba and BT have already set up a prototype QKD network in central London.
